    Learning goals

    • Understand wall latch.
    • Understand wall hop.
    • Use walls to recover from bad movement.
    • Avoid getting stuck on vertical surfaces.

    Explanation

Warframes can interact with walls. Wall latch lets you hold onto a wall for a short time while aiming. Wall hop lets you jump along or away from walls. Both help when you miss a jump, need to climb, need to stay off the ground briefly, or need to recover after hitting a wall at speed.

    Controls and smart use

These are default controls. If you changed keybinds, follow the action name in Options > Controls instead of the exact button.

    • Wall latch: contact a wall and hold aim. PC default aim is right mouse button; controller default aim is left trigger.
    • Wall hop: press jump while touching or moving along a wall. PC default is Space; controller default is the jump button.
    • Use wall latch to pause for a moment, shoot from a wall, or recover after missing a platform.
    • Use wall hop to climb, redirect yourself, or escape ground danger after hitting a vertical surface.
    • Leave the wall quickly once you have control. Staying latched too long slows the mission and can make you an easy target.

    What should I do?

Use wall movement as recovery first. Bullet jump toward a wall or ledge, touch the wall if you miss the landing, wall hop or latch, aim toward the platform, then jump back to safety.

How do I avoid wasting time?

Do not cling to walls for no reason. Wall latch is useful, but standing still on a wall can make you an easy target and slow down the mission.

    Common mistakes

Watch for these patterns while practicing.

    • Panicking after hitting a wall.
    • Holding onto a wall too long.
    • Wall hopping away from the objective.
    • Ignoring wall movement entirely and falling into pits repeatedly.

    Practical example

You miss a jump in a Grineer tile. Instead of falling, you catch the wall, hop upward, aim glide, and land on the platform.

    Key Takeaways

    • Wall movement is not only for advanced players. It helps beginners recover from mistakes and reach awkward spaces.

    Practical task

Good movement includes recovering from mistakes.

    1. Find a wall near a platform.
    2. Bullet jump toward the wall.
    3. Practice touching the wall without panicking.
    4. Wall hop or latch.
    5. Return to the platform.
    6. Repeat 5 times.

You can recover from a wall contact without falling or stopping completely.
