    Learning goals

    • Understand polarity.
    • Understand matching and mismatching polarities.
    • Understand Forma.
    • Understand Aura polarity.
    • Understand Stance polarity.
    • Learn why Forma can waste time when used blindly.

    Explanation

Polarity is the symbol on a mod slot or mod. Matching polarity usually reduces the capacity cost of a mod, while mismatching polarity can increase it. Forma can add or change polarities on many items, but it usually resets the item to rank 0 and requires leveling again. Warframe Aura mods and Melee Stance mods are special because they increase capacity instead of draining it, and matching polarity improves that bonus.

    What should I do?

Before using Forma, test the item, decide whether you like it, identify the build goal, check which mods are likely permanent, and add polarities only for mods you expect to keep. For Warframes, consider common Aura choices. For melee, consider both stance polarity and stance feel.

    How to avoid wasting time

Do not Forma because a slot is empty. Forma should solve a real capacity problem for a build you expect to use.

    Common mistakes

Avoid these modding mistakes before spending Endo, Credits, Forma, adapters, or Platinum.

    • Using Forma before knowing the build.
    • Adding polarities based only on one copied build.
    • Ignoring Aura polarity.
    • Ignoring Stance polarity.
    • Matching polarity but using a stance you dislike.
    • Thinking more Forma always means better.
    • Forgetting the re-leveling cost.

    Practical example

A Warframe build may not fit a high-drain survivability mod and an ability strength mod. One matching polarity may solve that problem, but too many rigid polarities can make a future alternate build awkward.

    Key Takeaways

    • Polarity saves capacity. Forma changes polarity. Planning prevents wasted re-leveling.

    Practical task

    Forma mistakes cost time.

    1. Pick one item you might Forma.
    2. Identify the build you want.
    3. List the highest-drain mods in that build.
    4. Check whether existing polarities help or hurt.
    5. Identify one polarity that would help most.
    6. Decide whether the item is worth re-leveling.
    7. Do not use Forma unless the reason is clear.

You can explain exactly why a polarity change would help.
