    Learning goals

    • Understand Mastery Rank as account progression.
    • Understand that ranking gear contributes to Mastery.
    • Understand why players level gear they may not use forever.
    • Understand why selling or subsuming too early can cause regret.
    • Learn a simple gear progression loop.

    Explanation

Mastery Rank is account-level progression in Warframe. One major way to increase Mastery is ranking new gear, including Warframes, weapons, companions, Archwings, Necramechs, and other equipment. A new Warframe can contribute Mastery as it ranks up. Once that Mastery has been earned from that item, duplicate copies usually do not keep giving new Mastery in the same way. This creates a loop: acquire gear, level it, decide whether to keep, sell, build, or use for another system, then move to the next item.

    What should I do?

Before selling or consuming a Warframe, check whether it is rank 30, whether you need it for Helminth, whether a Prime version changes your plan, whether you spent resources on it, whether it is hard to farm again, and whether you understand its use.

    Common mistakes

Avoid these patterns before spending scarce progression resources.

    • Selling a base Warframe immediately after crafting the Prime without checking Helminth plans.
    • Subsuming a frame before earning Mastery from that copy.
    • Keeping no record of which frames are Mastery-only, keepers, or Helminth candidates.
    • Assuming every leveled frame should become a long-term build.

    Practical example

You level a base Warframe to rank 30 for Mastery. Later you acquire the Prime version and decide to keep the Prime as your main build. Before selling the base frame, you check whether it should be used for Helminth.

    Key Takeaways

    • Mastery progression rewards learning and leveling many gear items. Treat each Warframe as both a possible build and an account progression step.

    Practical task

A list prevents accidental resource waste.

    1. List five Warframes you own or plan to farm.
    2. Mark each as Not leveled, Leveled for Mastery, Keep, Prime replaces this, or Helminth candidate.
    3. Do not sell any frame until you can explain why.

You have a clear plan for each frame instead of reacting randomly.
